Members considered and commented on two detailed design guidance notes for alterations and extensions and shop fronts as supplementary planning documents.

RESOLVED

1.         To adopt the detailed design guidance notes as set out in Appendix 1 and 2 as supplementary planning documents, subject to the minor changes suggested during the discussion.

2.         To agree that a ‘stand-alone’ glossary of design terms be produced to sit alongside supplementary design documents.

3.         To authorise the Director of Planning. following consultation with the Chair and Vice Chair of Planning Committee,  to agree minor grammatical and formatting changes to the SPD to improve the final document both for immediate use and to create a professionally designed version of the document for public release and promotional purposes.

4.         To authorise the Director of Planning, following consultation with the Chair and Vice Chair of Planning Committee, to agree minor revisions to the SPD to enable it to remain up to date and relevant into the future.

5.         To publish the full table of consultation responses, along with the response of the Authority on the Authority website alongside the documents for adoption.

6.         To send colour hard copies to organisations that responded to the consultation, and advise local agents and Parish Councils that the documents has been approved and published and make the documents available on the website alongside other supplementary planning documents.

Cllr H Laws was not present during part of the discussion on this item. On his return he did not participate in any discussion or voting.
