The Authority
appoints one Member representative, with one reserve Member, to this Local
Access Forum.
The Peak District Local Access Forum
meets regularly to advise the National Park Authority and Derbyshire County
Council on access improvements to the countryside of the Peak District. Its
members bring experience of a broad range of interests including walking,
cycling, horse riding, farming, land management, conservation, and local
business.
The forum first met in December 2000
following the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. It was re-established in
2003 with new members.
It now meets three times per year
at Aldern House,
Bakewell
(usually on Wednesdays), and may hold occasional meetings at other venues. Its
members bring experience of a broad range of interests including walking,
climbing and cycling, farming, land management, conservation and local
business.
