CEO, Phil Mulligan, presented the Peak District Tourism Charter to the Forum, which was approved in response to visitor impact on the National Park. 

Tourism is important.  The Charter sets out a plan to work with partners to mitigate some of the negative impacts, and to look at ways of bringing in funding.

LAF Members expressed some concern about the tone of the Charter, which should be carefully worded to avoid negative language towards visitors and respect rights to access the National Park.

Action:  To note the Tourism Charter and to provide input as it progresses and for the PDLAF to discuss further at the action planning stage in the Autumn.
