Minerals Team Review 2017-2018

Minutes:

The Head of Development Management  presented the report and informed the Committee of two additional pieces of information.

·         That the Peak District National Park Authority had been shortlisted for a Royal Town Planning Institute National Award for Planning Excellence in the Heritage and Culture Category, in relation to our work in devising and delivering the Stanton Moor Principles.

·         Following a representation made by the Authority on the Parliamentary Committee Inquiry on Hydraulic Fracturing and Shale GasExtraction, the Authority has been invited to speak to the Select Committee in London. A copy of the representation would be sent to all Members for their information.

The Minerals Team had still not filled the outstanding vacancy for Minerals Team Manager, plus they were carrying a vacancy for the Technician role,  so they were having to prioritise work which would mean less site monitoring, but they were confident that there would be the capacity to deal with any major work that came in.

Members thanked Officers for a clear concise report and congratulated them on being shortlisted for the Award.

The report was moved and seconded, voted on and carried.

RESOLVED:

That the report be noted.

The Committee voted to agree to continue the meeting beyond 3 hours in accordance with Standing Order 1.10
