Both Partnership and Management Group meetings are held on the same day, 3 times per year.  They may be in person or virtual meetings and locations of meetings can vary.

The Derwent Valley Community Rail Partnership is funded by Derbyshire County Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Peak District National Park Authority, East Midlands Railway and Cross Country Trains.  The partnership works to promote and enhance the Derwent Valley Line for residents and visitors.

The partnership's vision for the Derwent Valley Line is 'The operation of a frequent and reliable 7 days a week railway service that will attract a growing market, meet the needs of residents and visitors and support the economy of the Derwent Valley.'

Their objectives are:  To successfully develop the Derwent Valley Line, primarily through:

  • improving station facilities, services and encouraging the use of the line including the promotion of commuting usage and station adoption
  • developing wider community engagement with the railway.
  • promoting activities and special events, including promotion of sustainable tourism
  • developing the railway as a route to improve accessibility, reducing road congestion, delivering regeneration projects and economic growth
  • developing, promoting and implementing a marketing strategy for the line
