Meets 4 times per year plus additional sub-committee meetings where relevant, e.g. 4 Financial Sub-Committee meetings per year.  All are usually evening meetings.

The Authority appoints three Member representatives to the Foundation as Trustees.  Two reserve Members are also appointed.

The Peak District National Park Foundation is an independent charity which works to create a National Park which is thriving for nature and people and is protected for future generations. They do this by building a culture of philanthropy and investment in the Peak District National Park – connecting people who care about the Park and have the means to support it with the partners striving to care for this special place.

All the Foundation’s work is delivered in collaboration with the Peak District National Park Authority, utilising the specialist knowledge of their ecologists, scientists, rangers and education and heritage experts.  By working with the Authority and its partners - including landowners, farmers, charities and other local authorities – the Foundation can ensure that their work delivers significant impact for our Park, for nature and for our local communities.

The Foundations priorities are:

-          Nature restoration

-          Connecting people to nature

-          Access and accessibility

-          Protecting our cultural heritage

Role of Trustees:

-          Lived experience of injustice or marginalisation, and younger voices, are especially welcomed
